Sydney’s Luna Park hit with big fine over New Year’s Eve COVID breach

The amusement park with Australia’s biggest smile is $5000 poorer after breaching COVID-19 restrictions on New Year’s Eve.

The secretary of Luna Park on Sydney Harbour received the penalty infringement notice on Wednesday afternoon.

The fine came after mobile phone footage showing crowding at the iconic amusement park on New Year’s Eve sparked a police investigation.

Officers made inquiries with the venue and reviewed further footage before fining the park for breaching a public health…
