Free Tree Giveaway 2021, Sydney

It’s that time of year again — the City of Sydney is putting free trees up for grabs. But in 2021, the giveaway will look a little different than usual, adjusting with the times.

Instead of inviting locals to a certain place on one specific date to pick up trees — to encourage residents to help reach the government target to increase the urban canopy by 50 percent by 2030, and to plant one million new trees by 2022 — the City of Sydney is moving things online. So, first you need to register, with trees available for 13,500 households in Greater Sydney’s 33 Local Government Areas.
