COVID Delta variant forces half of Australia into lockdown as states battle outbreaks

More than half of Australia’s population is in lockdown as health authorities continue to battle coronavirus outbreaks of the infectious Delta strain.

Across the country, 90 new local cases of COVID-19 were confirmed on Tuesday, with the Delta outbreak spreading into Queensland.
